The financial advisor career is for you!
Whether you are an employee considering a career shift; a thriving businessman looking for a new venture; a returning migrant worker, a full-time mom or new graduate eyeing a source of income, then the financial advisor career is for you.
InLife’s monthly Grand Business Opportunity Forum presented the winning benefits of a financial advisor.
Belen Pujol, Founder of InLife accredited agency Financial Space Insurance Agency Inc., explained that a financial advisor enjoys financial freedom, work-life balance, career development and travel opportunities. She added that more importantly, a financial advisor is empowered to help others solve their financial concerns.
“You will live life on your own terms. I have friends who have been inviting us to join their vacation. I transitioned from saying ‘sige pag-iipunan ko yan’ to ‘schedule na natin yan’. I also transitioned from paying the minimum due on my credit card bill to paying the full amount due. Most importantly, I get to spend time with my family,” Pujol said.
“I chose to be a financial advisor in 1996 with the clear intention of just giving it a try. Today the person that I’ve become because of what I have achieved and the difference I made in people’s lives is more than what I’ve bargained for,” she added.
The InLife agency leader pointed out that the typical lifestyle goes from learning stage then to career stage, and eventually to accumulation stage in preparation for retirement.
“But as financial advisors, we do all these stages in a year. Don’t wait for retirement to travel, open a business, and learn a new hobby. Life-long learning is also very important,” Pujol said.
And to those who are hesitant to pursue the financial advisor career due to lack of sales experience or insurance background, Pujol said: “You don’t have to be 100% ready. We will get you ready. InLife provides training and mentorship to guide you in this career.”
Work-Life balance
Ricci Roncal, Unit Manager of InLife accredited agency Sequoia DSO, noted that the financial advisor career empowers her to address the financial concerns of her clients. The single mom also shared that she gets to devote time to her kids.
Roncal said while the financial advisor profession is unfamiliar to most people, she loves this purpose-driven career. “When I processed my first claim and I gave the check to a client who needed money for cancer treatment, I thanked God because I’m an insurance agent. When I gave my first death claim to a client’s beneficiary, an orphan, I felt blessed to be a financial advisor who does not only touch lives but saves lives.”
Financial Independence
A blog about preparing for retirement got Erwin Leo Garcia interested in investing and life insurance, and his financial advisor got him started in the profession.
The Unit Manager of InLife accredited agency The Great White Owl DSO explained that an employee’s paycheck to paycheck routine and demanding work schedules can be disappointing.
“I used to miss family outings. Pero ngayon hawak ko na yung income ko, nakaka-travel na, nakakabili na ng gamit na gusto ko at para sa pamilya ko. Totoo yung unlimited income but this does not come as magic,” said Garcia who came from an Engineering and IT career background.
“Mahirap ba itong trabaho? Lahat naman ng trabaho mahirap. Pero ang babalik sa’yo malaking income, time for myself and my family. Grow your business and be successful. Your business will depend on you. InLife is your partner to give your dream to you,” he said.
